St Peters Football Academy

The principles and rules of Mini Football are similar to Association Football except that the pitches are smaller and there are fewer players on each team. Depending on the age group, the number of players and size of pitch can vary from four-a-side for the youngest to seven-a-side for the under 10's. The goal size for all age groups remains the same at 12ft by 6ft (3.6m by 1.8m)

The benifits of Mini Football are many including:
More touches of the ball to increase participation and enjoyment.
Fewer players on the pitch meaning simpler decisions and better understanding.
Smaller pitches meaning greater concentration and interest among players.

More individual success leads to more children playing. In the long term tis leads to sistained participation levels beyond this age group.

Mini Football Festivals provide a popular format for schools and Clubs who come together at a central venue with teams playing a small number of games on a friendly basis. Results may or may not be kept and the importance is placed on fun and enjoying the next game without the pressure of league tables
